Triangular Blue Howlite Pendant set in Sterling Silver
This triangular Blue Howlite pendant is set in Sterling Silver with a 925 hallmark on the clasp. The lovely Blue Howlite pendant with its unusual triangular cabochon has lovely contrasting black veins running through. Blue Howlite or ‘Turquenite’ is a semi precious stone that is often mistaken for Turquoise (and sometimes sold as turquoise) as the colours can be very similar.
Blue Howlite is as a borate mineral that is principally that consists of calcium together with silica and other minerals. In its natural state it often comes in irregularly shaped nodules that are usually white. It is a mineral that owes its name to the Canadian mineralogist Henry How (hence the name Howlite) who first came across the mineral in 1868.

Blue Howlite is a powerful calming stone and good at repelling negative energy. It is stone that can help balance calcium levels within the body so aids both teeth and bones. When placed under the pillow it can help restful sleep.
