This lovely Garnet Bracelet is set in 925 Sterling Silver with nine beautiful polished garnet cabochons. The length is 21cm (8.25″) or 2.5cm less if clipped onto the first link so should fit most wrists. The polished garnets cabochons are a gorgeous deep red colour typical of this, lovely gemstone known as the ‘stone of passion’ . These are Indian Garnets, a country that is famous for producing stones with the most intense colours.
Garnets are semi-precious stones, but they are not a single type of mineral. Instead they are from a group of several closely related silicate minerals. The actual name ‘Garnet’ derives from ‘gernet‘. This was the word in use during medieval times to describe the dark red colour.
