Maybe for their exquisite colours, almost every colour of the rainbow and also their fascinating natural structures. The ancient Greeks thought that Rock Crystal was in fact ice. Water that had frozen so hard into a form of solid ice that it was unable to melt. The word crystal actually comes from the Greek word ‘kayos’ meaning ‘ice cold’.
