Sponge Coral is a beautiful bright red colour, with subtle and delicate patterns. Our Sponge Coral melithaea ochracea is found in the tropical seas off Bali, Indonesia. The Sponge Coral used in our jewellery is not on the endangered list. Sponge Coral is found growing in shallow reefs in the South China Sea, between Taiwan and Indonesia. This coral is regarded as a relatively quick growing coral. In recent years it has been farmed and harvested in a sustainable way.
