In Scotland it is often referred to by its historical/traditional name ‘Morion’. Apart from the Celts and Druids, it was a gemstone greatly revered by the ancient Egyptians and Romans. Metaphysically, Smoky Quartz is regarded as a protective stone, a stone that can help dispel guilt fear and anger. It is a an important stone used in shamanic rituals and also meditation, where it has strong links to the Base Chakra.
