Smoky Quartz Ankh Pendant with .925 Sterling Silver Clasp
This is a ‘chunky’ Smoky Quartz Crystal Ankh and with a .925 Sterling Silver clasp. It is a superb polished stone with a lovely rich, ‘mysterious’, smoky colour. The Ankh is the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol for life, symbolising mortal existence and the afterlife. Subsequently it became an important symbol for the early Egyptian Coptic Christians. This powerfully symbolic Ankh carved in Smoky Quartz, would make a wonderful protective ‘Talisman’, or ‘Amulet’.
Smoky Quartz is a transparent quartz stone, its colour can be anything from a subtle brown or grey, to almost black. This is a crystal with a long association with the Celts, and the Druids. They regard Smoky Quartz as sacred. In Scotland they call Smoky Quartz ‘Morion‘, and it occurs there in the Cairngorm Mountains. This is the national stone of Scotland. The morion is a stone frequently seen in kilt pins and also in the handle of the ceremonial dirk. In the past, the superstitious would place a Smoky Quartz crystal by the entrance to a house. This was to prevent drifting spirits from entering. The ancient Egyptians and Romans also regarded this as an important stone.
Metaphysically, this stone is a superb antidote to stress. Smoky Quartz has a strong protective energy, a stone to help dispel guilt, fear and also anger. This is a stone that can calm masculine energy, and assist communication difficulties. This is also a powerful stone popular extensively for crystal healing, shamanic rituals and meditation.
