The name Labradorite comes from Labrador in Canada, which is where the stone was first identified. It is a variety of Felspar, together with Rainbow Moonstone. This refracted light leads to dramatic iridescent shimmering flashes of colour. These colours can be anything from peacock blue, and bright green and also grey or brown.
