The settings and chain of this attractive Labradorite Necklace are all sterling Silver. This is a lovely example of this popular semi-precious stone, with shimmering iridescent green and blue colours. The length is 20cm so is therefore designed to be worn high on the neck.
The Name Labradorite originates from Labrador in Canada, this is where this stone was first identified. Together with Rainbow Moonstone, it is a variety of Felspar. Labradorite is a stunning mineral with dramatic flashes of colour. This is known as Labradorescence, and caused by refracted light within the stone. This refracted light leads to dramatic iridescent shimmering flashes of colour. These colours can be anything from peacock blue, and bright green to grey and brown. Apart from Canada, Labradorite is also comes from Finland, Madagascar and Australia.
Metaphysically, Labradorite is a stone with a reputation for excellent healing properties. This is a stone that can enhance psychic abilities and magical powers.
