Pietersite Pendant with a Sterling Silver setting
This ‘chunky’ Sterling Silver Pendant contains a pair of stunning golden Pietersite Stones, a rare and also very unusual Gemstone. The solid silver ‘hinged’ setting has a 925 hallmark on the clasp. The colours of this gorgeous gemstone are unusual, flecks of golden orange and brown. This is a stone that some people confuse with Tiger Eye, Peietersite is quite different and much more uncommon.
Pietersite is a chatoyant stone, one that seems to change colour at different angles. It is a rare variety of chalcedony and contains amphibole fibres, with swirling patterns of, gold, and red-brown. This is a rare gemstone, the discovery in the 1960’s comes from only one location worldwide, Namibia. Small deposits from once came from a small mine Henan Province, China.
Metaphysically Pietersite is known as the “Tempest Stone” for its intense energy. This is a very powerful stone, (too powerful for some) and is used for protection, grounding, and also personal transformation.
