This lovely pendant contains, Carnelian, Rainbow Moonstone & Blue Topaz. These three gorgeous semi precious stones are quite different, but form a superb combination. The Carnelian and Rainbow Moonstone are cabochon cut, the Blue Topaz has been beautifully faceted. The soothing shades of the Carnelian and Rainbow Moonstone combine with the sparkling Blue Topaz.
Carnelian is a beautiful orange semi-precious stone, a silica mineral, and form of chalcedony. The rusty, orange colouring is due to iron oxide being present.
Blue Topaz is a silicate mineral of aluminium and fluorine. Topaz is a semi-precious stone that can occur in a whole spectrum of colours. These range from completely colourless, to shades of golden yellow and brown, through to pink, and also blue.
Rainbow moonstones are a form of Felspar, in the same family as Labradorite, but pale and more transparent. When the light catches the stone it creates a blue sheen, with shimmering flashes of blue.
