This Green Onyx and Garnet Pendant is set in Sterling Silver. The two semi-precious stones compliment one another in a lovely ‘hinged’ setting. This hinged design allows the beautiful blood red Garnet to catch the light.
Green Onyx is a very hard stone, with rich, translucent ‘forest green’ colours. Onyx is a form of chalcedony, a cryptocrystalline and it is also a variety of quartz. Onyx was one of the favourite gemstones of the ancient Egyptians and Romans. Garnets, the January birthstone, can found in a range of different colours. These Garnets are from India. This is a country that consistently produces stones with the most intense deep red colour.
