Tiger’s Eye Om Pendant set in 925 Sterling Silver
This unusual shaped Tiger’s Eye Om pendant is set in Sterling Silver, with a 925 hallmark on the back of the pendant. The superb silver-work is an interesting and unusual design based on a stylised version of the Hindu Om design, with three cabochons.
Tiger’s Eye is an opaque, semi-precious stone, it has a gorgeous silky lustre, of golden brown colours. It gets its colouring principally from iron oxide, it is a metamorphic rock, and also a member of the quartz family. This is a ‘chatoyant’ gemstone, this refers to the ability for a stone to change colour when bands of light cross it in different directions. It occurs in a number of locations worldwide, including Australia, South Africa, India and also in Canada. Historically it was commonly worn as an amulet to keep the wearer safe from evil forces.
