Watermelon Tourmaline is a rare and highly sought after form of Tourmaline. A stone that belongs to the ‘Elbaite’ family of Tourmaline stones, these are also the most colourful ones. It has a beautiful pink centre surrounded by stunning shades of green. Tourmalines are mixed crystals of aluminium boron silicate, containing various elements like lithium and also manganese. The actual word tourmaline get its name from the words ‘toura mali’, meaning stone with bright colour in Singhalese.
