Description

Labradorite & Garnet Pendant in Sterling Silver, Garnets are the January birthstone

This pendant has a large colourful Labradorite stone, with a vivid red Garnet above. The Sterling Silver setting has a 925 hallmark on the clasp. The Labradorite cabochon is especially colourful. It has gorgeous flashes of green and a superb rusty red colour.

Labradorite gets its name from Labrador in Canada.  This is the country where the stone was first identified. It is a variety of Felspar, together with Rainbow Moonstone. Labradorite is a stunning mineral with dramatic flashes of colour. Known as Labradorescence, this occurs because of refracted light within the stone.

Garnets are semi-precious stones, but are not a single type of mineral. Instead they are from a group of several closely related silicate minerals. These Garnets are from India, this is a country that produces stones with intense colours. Garnets are the January birthstone and they can occur in various colours.

MetaphysicallyLabradorite is a stone with excellent healing properties. It is a stone that can enhance psychic abilities and magical powers. This is an incredibly spiritual and protective stone, and is also one to dispel negativity. A stone to calm the overactive mind, while at the same time stimulating the imagination.

Metaphysically, Garnets are the fiery, stone of passion. In addition to as passion, they are a stone that can inspire love and devotion. Garnets are powerfully energising and regenerating stones. Garnets are also a protective stone, especially for those travelling far from home.
