Garnets are a group of several closely related silicate minerals. The actual name ‘Garnet’ derives from ‘gernet‘, a word in use during medieval times to describe the dark red colour. These are Indian Garnets, a country that produces stones with the most intense colours. Garnets are the January birthstone and they can be various different colours.
