This beautiful Jade Kuan Yin carving has been carved in China from a piece of solid jade. Jade is a translucent gemstone and in places the light passes through the carving, showing intricate moss like patterns. The mottled green colours are typical of this highly sought after stone, which has been treasured for thousands of years. Kuan Yin is known as the Goddess of Compassion and Mercy. She is one of the major deities in Buddhism, and sometimes referred to as the female Buddha. Healers have long cherished this stone regarding it as the ultimate dream stone.
