Being a ‘combination stone’ (a stone composed of multiple minerals) Ruby in Kyanite is classified as a rock. Although it does come from several other locations our Ruby in Kyanite all comes from India. Kyanite is a mineral that is present in metamorphic rocks and is rich in aluminium, (an aluminosilicate mineral). It belongs to the same family of minerals as Andalusite.
